The Android SDK connects Android apps to Reactor models. These pages describe inc.reactor:reactor-sdk-android:1.1.0. Use the published API reference for the complete API.

Requirements

The SDK is written in Kotlin. Calls that wait are suspend functions, and state is exposed as StateFlow. For desktop JVM or desktop Kotlin, use the Java SDK.

Add the dependency

Gradle (Kotlin DSL)
The AAR includes the native libraries for both ABIs. No separate download or NDK is needed.

Permissions

The SDK declares no permissions. Add INTERNET to your app’s manifest:
AndroidManifest.xml
Capturing from a device also needs RECORD_AUDIO or CAMERA. Request them from your app when you need them.

Connect

Have your backend issue a short-lived, scoped JWT and pass it to the app. See Authentication for token issuance.
Call this from a coroutine, for example lifecycleScope.launch { run(jwt) }. disconnect() ends a session the client created. close() releases the client. Call both: closing alone does not end the session.
Never bundle a Reactor API key in an APK. Anyone can extract it. Keep it on your backend and give the app a scoped JWT.

Optional module

inc.reactor:reactor-sdk-android-media adds camera, microphone, speaker, and rendering helpers. Add it with the same 1.1.0 version:
The base SDK opens no hardware. See the media API reference for each class.

Reactor

Connect, send commands, upload files, and download recordings.

Track

Receive and send video and audio frames.

Types

Replies, state, step results, and errors.
